Through a partnership with Francis Marion University, The Manor is pleased to announce the start of a new learning opportunity:  Senior Scholars!  Senior Scholars provides college-level courses on topics of general interest, taught by full-fledged members of the FMU faculty to an engaged, eager-to-learn community.

The first semester of Senior Scholars began in September of 2017.  The first class was “Topics in American History to 1865.”  They discussed the following topics:  The Colonial Period, The American Revolution, Prelude to the Civil War, Battles of the Civil War, and more.  We are currently in our second semester of Senior Scholars at The Manor and we have over thirty people enrolled in the class!

When asked, residents have wonderful things to say about this program and the professor, Dr. Will Bolt.  “Everybody loves the professor!  He gives you a lot of facts and a lot of trivia.  He’s really personable and very nice.  I’ve recommended the class to a couple of people and they have loved it!” says Peggy Vaci, Resident at The Manor.

We are thrilled to have this program at The Manor and hope to see it continue for years and years to come!
